Circa 1840. Pennsylvania origin. Never used or washed, the quilt's glazed paisley chintz border retains its original sheen. A very old note is attached to one corner which says "Mrs. O.C. Bishop, about 78 years old." The quilts contains a wide variety of mid-19th-Century prints in splendid blues, browns, indigo, and many more well chosen fabrics. The backing is a striking gray-blue and olive print, and the binding is a violet calico.
Measurements: 84 x 80 inches.
Condition: Excellent, with minor water marks.
